The China Wind Power 2012 (CWP 2012) trade show was held in the new China International Exhibition Center from November 15th to 17th 2012. The show attracted a great deal of interest from well-known corporations in the wind energy industry from home and abroad.

The Schaeffler booth showcased the most important bearings and advanced tech-nologies for wind power applications and featured the Schaeffler Wind Power Stan-dard (WPOS) for the first time since the 2012 Husum Wind Fair, which generated high levels of interest from participants. The WPOS is Schaeffler’s quality standard for all products and processes relevant to the wind power sector that ensures the highest possible standards of quality and reliability worldwide. It is used on all bear-ings that have been developed and manufactured according to this new standard.

Detailed information about products and technologies from Schaeffler application engineers and sales staff enhanced participants’ understanding of bearing technolo-gy. In addition, employees from the Industrial Services department introduced online and offline condition monitoring systems and showed condition monitoring equipment. During the trade show, all major wind turbine and gearbox manufacturers held meetings with Schaeffler staff for further cooperation.

During the trade show, the Green Wind Energy awards for outstanding postgraduate theses were also presented by Schaeffler for the third time. The Green Wind Energy Foundation was established by the China Wind Energy Association and Schaeffler to promote the development of China’s wind energy industry and encourage univer-sities and research institutions to educate talented students for the future. The fund is provided by Schaeffler to honor outstanding postgraduates and their tutors in the wind power sector.
